# Leave Policy Pack (pto-policy-kit) — free sample

Three real files from the full pack (27 files), each **trimmed to taste** —
enough to judge the quality, not enough to run a 7-country policy on:

- `uk-policy-briefing.md` — the complete United Kingdom briefing from
  `policies/`, 1 of the 7 countries (DE · UK · FR · ES · US · BR · MX):
the full at-a-glance table and the two headline rules in numbers
  (5.6 weeks / 28 days; 12.07% of hours for irregular-hours and part-year
workers). The carry-over, pay-in-lieu and notice rules, the other two
thirds of the worked examples, the four common misconfigurations and the
linked sources are summarized where the cut happens.
- `accrual-sample.py` — a runnable slice of the CLI accrual calculator
  from `calculator/`: Germany's six-month front-load with the 31-March
carry-over deadline (BUrlG §4/§7) and the UK 12.07%-of-hours route,
with 8 of the 44 self-test checks. It runs as-is:
`python3 accrual-sample.py self-test` (offline, no install). The full
calculator adds all 7 countries, pro-rata monthly, the US tenure tiers,
the Mexico ladder, the Brazil ⅓ bonus, the bonus/table commands and the
  browser + Google Sheets versions.
- `request-approval-SOP-sample.md` — the first half of the approval SOP
from `sop/`, complete up to the rule that matters most (written approval,
always, with the reply template) and the five-state lifecycle. The four
per-country approval-time checks, the weekly 15-minute loop and the
quarterly reconciliation are summarized at the cut.

What the full pack adds (the other 24 files):

- The 6 remaining country briefings — Germany, France, Spain, US, Brazil,
Mexico — same shape: minimum in numbers, worked examples, common
misconfigurations, every number linked to its source with a
verification date (VERIFIED vs CITED, nothing hidden).
- `config/policies.json` — the same numbers as machine-readable config
(quota, accrual kind, carry-over deadline, pay-in-lieu, sources[]).
- The full calculator: `accrual.py` (44-check self-test), `accrual.html`
(browser version, no install), the Google Sheets tracker with
  auto-formulas + import guide.
- `calendar/build_ics.py` — a real RFC 5545 `.ics` generator
  (52-check self-test): policy-cycle dates + your approved requests,
importable into Google Calendar/Outlook via their official channels,
with the import SOP and a sample requests CSV.
- The other SOP: the yearly 60-minute policy review — re-verify all seven
country tables against the primary sources before the law drifts out
  from under your policy.
